At the Flint Center in Cupertino, California, Tim Cook addressed the crowd saying he was launching the biggest development in the history of iPhone, at the same place where Steve Jobs unveiled the first Apple Mac computer 30 years before. And the big news for Apple fans in India goes like this - Apple will make available its new phablets, the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus accessible in India from October 17, according to the official tech giant's India website.

The big bang launch will fall in the middle of festive season, a time that is associated with hefty shopping all over the country. Apple plans to make available the new smartphones in 115 countries by the end of this year.

  • It will come in the following screen sizes
  • 4.7 inches for the iPhone 6,
  • 5.5 inches in the iPhone 6 Plus,
  • As compared to the four-inch screen of the iPhone 5S.

  • $199 (16GB)
  • $299 (64GB) and
  • $399 (128GB) with a 2-year contract.

The iPhone 6 Plus Price

  • $299 for 16GB
  • $399 for 64GB and then
  • $499 for 128GB with a 2-year contract.

The new smartphones come with M8 co-processor that works in conjunction with the main chip to uninterruptedly measure motion data without wearing battery life. It is designed for fitness and activities, which can figure out elevation, such as with a flight of stairs. Yes, the most looked upon of all the Apple iphone 6 features - "camera", is 8-megapixel which is improved from the older version iPhone 5s, with new additions like a new and improved sensor, greater noise reduction technology, and auto-focus twice as fast as before, executives said.

  • Next-gen speeds are now up to 150 Mbps, in comparison to 100 Mbps in earlier models.
  • The iPhone 6 and its big brother 6 Plus also brings with it 802.11ac networking for faster office and home speeds.

Apple iWatch (in pink, blue and white wrist bands) with styles like hand-crafted gold buckle.

It comes with a flat screen with sapphire glass and a digital crown with a twisting control which allows the user scroll through different functions. The product runs apps, takes dictation and interacts with the iPhone 5, 5s, 6 & 6 Plus. "With the Digital Crown, user can scroll, zoom, and navigate Watch without covering the display," said Apple. The watch uses the GPS and Wi-Fi in the iPhone to help track the distance & an accelerometer that measures fitness.

It will start at $349 and will be available early next year. For the Indian Apple Fans & Tech Enthusiasts: Wait of just a month or so! The new handsets are to be available in the US, Canada, the UK and 6 more countries from September 19, while other lands will follow later. It may still take some time i.e. till 17 Oct as per the official website information before the latest version of the iPhone makes it to India. But over the years, the gap amid the Apple iPhone 6 release date in US and India has reduced vividly, which is by far the shortest gap.
